Free SIM card with phone purchase

Hi,

If I'm buying a phone from the Fizz website, I get the option to include a free SIM card. Is this SIM card then tied to my account in any way or could someone else activate this SIM card for their own account?

Usually the free sim is an esim, you need to check that your phone is supporting it https://fizz.ca/en/faq/install-and-activate-esim and https://fizz.ca/en/faq/compatible-devices

The eSIM will be associated to your account, since you will get it at the activation of a specific plan.

A physical SIM can used and donate to other people

If your phone is not compatible, you need to buy the physical sim https://fizz.ca/en/participating-stores/sim-card

Also check if your phone is VoLTE certified https://fizz.ca/en/faq/compatible-devices

Finally remember to use a referral code when you will activate the first plan in one account, in order to get 25$

The phone in question isn't compatible with eSIM, so it's definitely a physical SIM card, as per screenshot below. Good to know I can donate it to someone. Thanks ! 👍️
