Just because it is cold we don't stop thinking about sailing, floating, fishing, tanning, biscuiting or water skiing….

Did Christmas bring any new toys for the water?

Was on the water last night…felt thick enough. Saw lots of skate marks... Will add some more tomorrow.

In my area, the Richelieu River is not frozen except for the edges so it limits those who like to skate.

Warm today, so skated on an outdoor park rink. Still fun but no danger.

If there are any captains, is free play normal in the steering? I get around 3-4" on the wheel and not sure if it time to replace.

Steering wheel play is a common issue that can arise as steering systems age. Generally, the maximum allowable steering wheel play is around 2 inches for a 20-inch steering wheel. If you're experiencing 3-4 inches of play, it might be a sign that some components in your steering system are worn or damaged.

Got it! If you’re noticing 3-4 inches of play, it’s likely due to worn or damaged steering components. Time to check and replace those parts for safer boating! 🚤🔧

I'm glad you didn't let the cold weather dampen your spirits. As for new toys for the water, I'd recommend checking out the latest stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) or inflatable kayaks. They're perfect for exploring calm waters and offer a great workout. Alternatively, you could consider a new water skiing rope or a personal watercraft (PWC) for some adrenaline-pumping fun. Whatever you choose, I hope you have a blast on the water!
