Unable to make outgoing calls on ZTE WF723 Wireless Home Phone

Hi,

I saw someone having the same problem here a while back with no solution posted, my SIM is plugged in to a ZTE WF723 home phone base. Though I can receive calls using it, I can't make any outgoing calls. I think this has something to do with VoLTE on the device, but there is no way to change these settings on the home phone base. Has anyone found a way to fix this? Outgoing calls work just fine with the SIM in other devices.

Thanks!

    Hi @pbreaker

Did you try the SIm to a phone to see if it is related with the SIM, at the moment (if you are not in US) you can use the 3G therefore you are not oblige to have a VoLTE certified phone, sometime of this year the story can change since the provider they will start to fade out the 3G

You can always contact the support, https://fizz.ca/en/support , and click on the green bubble on the bottom right of the page in order to chat with them to find the right solution for you.

    Hi @pbreaker

Although I am not familiar with the devices, perhaps it is a problem with the phone itself and the duration of the tones it is sending.

See if holding the number down longer will help (doubtful) or if there is a setting somewhere on the phone that will produce a longer tone when the number is pressed.

    Cheers,

    Brad

Do you dial the 10 digit number?

You will need to dial 10 digits even for local numbers.

Hi, it's an appliance that is not supported by Fizz so it must work in 3G only. You know that 3G is coming to an end this year in Canada. So you'll have to think about replacing your system. It should work, but nothing is certain. Try to hold the tone keys longer or sometimes maybe move the base closer to a window if the signal is weak.
