What Happens to My Current Number If I Change It to a New Number?

Hi everyone,

I’m considering changing my number to a new one on Fizz, and I was wondering what happens to my current number once I make the change. Will I still be able to keep my old number in case I need it later? Or is there any way to port it out or transfer it before I change?

Any info or advice on this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

If you change number, you will lose your old number. I don't think you can get it back. The number will be assigned to someone else.

If you port it out, the account is automatically closed.

Keeping the old number: Once you change your number, your old number will usually be reassigned to someone else after a period of time. It is not possible to keep your old number unless you transfer it to another service before making the change

Number portability: If you want to keep your old number, you can port it to another service provider before changing your number. This means that you can keep your current number even if you change providers

To port your number, contact your new service provider and request the transfer before cancelling your old service. Do not cancel your old service until the transfer is complete, or you may lose your number.

Number porting can take a few hours to a few days, depending on the provider.

Hi there! If you change your number on Fizz, your current number will be deactivated and you won't be able to use it anymore. Unfortunately, Fizz doesn't offer a way to keep your old number or port it out once you change it.

However, you can always port your number to Fizz before changing it, if you haven't done so already. This way, you can keep your current number and switch to a new one later if needed.
