Is it normal for comments to be held for half a day before showing up?

I've made a few comments now and they all end up in moderation limbo for so long, the comment doesn't even make sense by the time it's public. Or worse, the discussion is already closed. Is this happening because I'm new? Or are they currently experiencing system problems? (it took two full days just to transfer my number over)

yes your post will be automatic tagged for the moderation the first week and a whizz must approve it
