How do I unlock my cell from fizz so I can give the phone to a friend who’s on a different carrier

The CRTC requires that as of December 1 2017, all cell phones must be sold unlocked.

I am assuming the phone you plan to give away was purchased after that?

what is your phone? google phones are not carrier locked by default. otherwise you may need to contact support and ask them to unlock. you can also have your friend insert their sim card and see if it works or not to see if the phone is carrier locked
