Phone called 911 on its own

Hi folks,

My iPhone called 911 on its own. I had it in the same pocket as I always do, riding in the car.

Has this happened to anyone else?

The Winnipeg Police had a news release about this issue (not specific to Fizz), but I am unable to locate it.

I can’t see how this happened with my phone in the same pocket it always is, however somehow it must have happened.

Has anyone ever heard of or experienced a mobile provider calling 911 without any action taken by the user?

I heard about this. You should block the number since your phone might have a shortcut for emergency calls.

could be how you were sitting causing the emergency shortcut buttons being pressed. all random chance
