I used tremclad, it sorta worked, but after almost 10 years it is peeling like crazy…should have covered with a uv resistant clear coat.
A funny thing, the paint job made the canoe really fast in the water.

Turns out the river is as shallow as 10m and shipping going through the locks are maxed at 8m of draft. But still deep enough to get into a whole heap of trouble if not careful.

Interesting that's really cool to know all these, thanks for the informations. Yeah your right still deep enough to make someone in danger if they don't know how to swim like myself

Oliphant ON. Looking out to the fishing islands.

That is on Lake Huron. A lot of kite boarders love this place for it's shallow bays and little boat traffic with nice winds.
