Incentive for Adding Second Line

Hi,
I recently ported my number over to Fizz, and am really enjoying the service and community. I'm planning on bringing my wife's number over as well. From what I can see, there are two options.
- I could create a new account for her, and she could activate using my referral code, saving us $80 total with the current promo, or $50 with the normal referral bonus.
- I could add a second line to my account, and bring her number into that line.
It seems like option 1 is a no brainer, but then we need 2 separate accounts, bill payments, etc. I'd like to do option 2, but at the moment I don't see any incentives to doing so. Wouldn't it be in Fizz's interest for me to add more lines? Do they have any incentives for that, or options like data sharing for multiple lines?
Thanks!!

You are right Fizz push us to create 2 accounts
- You cannot separate plans in one account if one day you need to
- When you reach a new level you get only one bonus
- sometime fizz give us perks, but a lot of times are from account and not plans
Considering the 80 $ referral credit, you will probably never compensate with the bonuses
Like you said is no-brainer option 1

Option #1 is better for now. Maybe Fizz will change that in the future.

Thanks, that makes sense, I'll do that then when adding the second line.

I hope they add incentives for second lines, it would make things easier when managing a larger account for sure.

Yeah a pain to manage 2 separate accounts for sure, but benefits wise it makes sense to go with option one.

There is an incentive to stack two lines on one account as you earn points through monthly payment quicker so you unlock level slots and perks faster.
But whether that is worth it in your eyes is a different story.

I'm in the same boat. I have just switched from Freedom to Fizz.
Yes the one time $25 gift per line is great and it gives you $50 credit for family but long term it isn't that beneficial when you consider that your points for bill payments are no longer accumulating faster.I did a quick calculation and if i spend just $35 / line i earn 350 points per line per month, it would take me 2.14 years to reach level 4 for on both accounts (if i had two lines).
If i put both lines together into a single account ($70 / month spent or 700 points earned per month), i would reach level 4 (9000 points) in about 13 months (700 x 13) and unlock the $1 rebate faster per line saving me $2/month every month (or save $24 every year).
Similarly, one line of $35/mo would require me to be with the company for 12.9 years before i reach level 10 but with 2 lines that time cuts down to 6.4 years.
I think if you're playing the long game a one time $50 credit may not have the same benefit as earning points faster to unlock rewards that get you line credits faster.

You have an error here, after 13 months, you will get 2 slots on each plan, and you will get 2x 250M, 1x500M and 1x1$ for both plans on the same account
therefore, you can have a plan with 750 MB perks, and the other with 250MB and 1$
Therefore, reaching 26 months you will save 26-13= 13$ in total instead of 25$ therefore you lost 12$ after the 26 months you will lose a bit more
You need 46 months in order to get 1$ on each account
Now,
if in order to break even for the 25$, you need 25 months with 2 accounts in the same plan0 -
I don't yet know how the $1 credit on perk translate into a reduction of points. But i just found that long term, you can unlock all the perks within a much shorter time and reduce your monthly bill way faster which more than makes up for $25 one time credit on your lines. These would be repeated savings each year. Perhaps by then things change and these perks are reduced. I do remember when i researched Fizz, they showed $2/line rebate but now i only see $1/line. later it may be 0.5 /line. who knows.

(you wrote 2 times 1$ which is wrong)
Check this post https://forum.fizz.ca/en/discussion/2642349/please-i-want-to-know-what-is-benefits-for-a-man-and-his-wife-about-mobile-plans
From that example after 25 months,
if you get 2 plans on the same account you will save 14$ (with 2 plans of 40$ each)
If you get 1 plan on each account, you will get 3$ on each plan, therefore, 6$, but you also got 25$ more, therefore, you saved 31$ vs 14$, moreover the following months, you will save 1$ more on the 1 plan per account configuration, till level 7 where you need 31500 points0 -
I calculated with your option
1 plan 2 account, in 4 years you will get 38$ on saving by perks
2 plan 1 account each in 4 years you ill get 44$ saving by perks plus the 25$ at the beginingAfter 5 years
- 62$ (1p 2a)
- against 68$ + 25$
After 6 years
- 86$
- 92$ + 25$
etc

here's my calcs.
i did it two lines one account and 1 line two accounts where both lines are $35/line. My thought was what gets me to full rebates sooner and unless my assumptions are wrong 1 account 2 phones got me there faster but not much.
I can see after 10 years the 2 lines 2 accounts is a better option but no one really stays with a company that long.

I can't see anything in your images. Could you post a larger version, separating them will helps?
Having two plans on one account will definitely get you to level 10 in half the time, but economically, it's not worth it. I thought that the idea here was to have the maximum return

Here
Month Pts Perks $ Pts Perks $ 1 350 0 700 0 2 700 0 1400 0 ...
Month Pts Perks $ Pts Perks $ 13 4550 0 9100 0 14 4900 0 9800 1$ Here you got 13 $ on the 700 pts per month, which is 2 plans
Month Pts Perks $ Pts Perks $ 27 9450 1$ 18900 1$ ...
Month Pts Perks $ Pts Perks $ 45 15750 1 $ 31500 1 $ 46 16100 1 $ 32200 2 $ 47 16450 1 $ 32900 2 $ 48 16800 1 $ 33600 2 $ Got 22 $ 38 $ You got 22$ for each account, therefore
44$ 2 accounts with 1 plan each, 22$ on each account , and I don't event consider the 2x 25$ referral credit
38$ 1 plan with 2 accounts
