Cannot access MMS with data-only SIM

My set up is: data-only Fizz SIM, with existing SIM from another carrier for text/talk.

I received the Fizz SIM and set it up with the correct APN. The data worked.
I went into my texts and found an MMS hoping to uncover what it might be (since I have not had data). It still doesn't load.

So, do I need to purchase text in this plan to access? Does anyone use dual-sim for a similar purpose that has experience? Thanks.

Sorry - I can't reply to my previous discussion as I get the error "CommentModel::getDiscussionThreadOffset(): Argument #1 ($commentRowOrCommentID) must be of type object|array|int, string given, called in /applications/vanilla/controllers/class.postcontroller.php on line 952"
I hope that is okay.

    Good morning @makeminemusic

You only need a text plan to send/receive MMS. In order to open the content within it, you need data.

    Snippets from

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multimedia_Messaging_Service

MMS messages are delivered in a different way from SMS.

Once the recipient's MMSC has received a message, it first determines whether the receiver's handset is "MMS capable" or not.

If the receiver's handset is not MMS capable, the message is usually delivered to a web-based service from where the content can be viewed from a normal internet browser. The URL for the content is usually sent to the receiver's phone in a normal text message.

MMS does not utilize operator-maintained "data" plans to distribute multimedia content; they are used only if the user clicks links inside the message.

    Cheers,

    Brad

I think that the text being on a different network than the data may be the issue.

The MMS is trying to get the info from the same connection as your text.
