Can I receive text messages when roaming overseas with the strict minimum plan($7 per month)

Hello everyone,

I know and I did receive text messages for free when traveling overseas with my current plan (with unlimited calling and some data).

I would like to clarify that I can still receive text messages if I change my plan to the minimum Quebec coverage (no minutes, no data, no text messages), currently $7 per month?

My intention is to keep the number and be able to receive some verification codes while I am overseas for one year.

Thank you!

Yes, you can receive text message oversea.

however, your service may be suspended after 3 months.

The majority of your usage (calls, texts and data) must be done on the Fiz network (Subscription area).

We reserve the right to interrupt or block access to our network of partner providers if you use your mobile service primarily on their networks for 3 consecutive payment cycles.

    Hi @Patricia_001

Yes you can the incoming SMS are free everywhere, with the basic plan without SMS

However, some short message are not working outside Canada and USA probably some protection, if you are using for 2FA check if they offer a software to make the authentication something like an OTP
