I have been following the tour since the Lance Armstrong era. He won the tour for 7 consecutive years. He was eventually stripped of his titles because of doping.

He was so dominant that we used to call it "Le tour de Lance".

The cyclists are exceptional athletes. Three weeks of racing covering 3498 kilometers.

I particularly like the high mountain stages. At these altitudes there is much less oxygen in the air so on top of having to climb, they have to deal with an oxygen deficiency.

I watched it during the Lance Armstrong years. It’s a good way to « visit » France on your TV…

Spectacular scenery. Medieval towns, old churches and castles.

I'm sure that the helicopter shots of the scenery generate a lot of business for the tourism industry.

When you watch it makes you want to go there.
