Silly question: switching from Videotron to Fizz

My contract with Videotron is ending at the end of August and I'm planning to switch to Fizz. Due to multiple people working from home, I can't afford to have an interruption if something goes wrong, so I'll wait until after Fizz works before cancelling Videotron.

Is the Fizz modem able to "automatically" get service from Fizz once connected to power/coaxial, or will Videotron's simultaneous service interfere somehow? I plan to just swap the modem and put it in bridge mode and my ubiquiti equipment will handle all the routing/wifi.

I ask because I have PTSD from really horrendous experience having my service incorrectly cut by a large telecom company before while switching to another provider.

    Hi @Carl M. #1456

You can overlap the two services; therefore, you can test it for a couple of days and then close the Videotron service.

You can disconnect the Videotron modem and connect the Fizz one.

If you have a Y connector, you can also connect both modems together, but it is easier to connect only one.

The modem will be sent to you, and you will need to connect it and configure the password.

At the moment, they have a promotion. You can subscribe now and request delivery in August. However, they will charge you for the first month right now, but the billing cycle will start at the activation, which can be three days after receiving the modem.
