No Volte Sim card Traveling to USA

Just found out my older sim card will not work traveling to USA for voice calls as its not a volte simcard. The chat agent said my data and texts will still work just not calls. To me that does not make any sense so am asking here. IF I go to the states and have the canada +usa plan will i still be able to receive texts and use data? Id love to get a new sim but will be leaving before I'm able to get one shipped and they will not ship outside of the coverage area.

In order to make calls in USA you need to have the VoLTE technology, since in USA they drop the 3G Network.
Regarding the VoLTE, in order to be able to use the VoLTE, you need to have a Fizz's VoLTE certified phone and the VolTE SIM, check if you can still have one for free https://zone.fizz.ca/dce/customer-ui-prod/simcard/free-order?step=quantity otherwise you need to buy it
Regarding the data and SMS yes they work, I used them couple of months ago without any problem, with a phone that was not certified.

As Elena already told you, you need the VoLTE sim card that you can request for free!
