I think last week when I configured a 1G plan it was $13 per month, and now it's $18.....

so was $13 the BF/Cyber monday promo price and $18 is the regular?

or $13 is the regular and $18 is an increased price?

    Hi @Cheng T.

If you activated your plan during the promotion, this will be your price.

Please check the service agreement, there, you will find your price.

Remember that the price is your plan + 911 fees (0.49) + TX

13$ was a promo Fizz 5 year anniversary price.

18$ is more like a regular price ( note : their price changes regularly, so it's hard to say regular price )

It seems like the initial $13 per month for the 1G plan you saw might have been a special promotional price, possibly linked to a Black Friday or Cyber Monday deal. These types of promotions are common around that time of year and typically offer significant discounts to attract new customers or to encourage existing customers to upgrade their plans.

The increase to $18 could indicate that the promotional period has ended, and the plan has returned to its regular pricing. It's less common for a company to offer a low regular price and then increase it shortly afterward, especially without clear communication to the customers.

If you're unsure, the best course of action would be to check directly with Fizz. They should be able to provide clear information about their pricing structure and any recent changes.

If you need to contact Fizz customer service, they will create a ticket if the situation warrants it.

We cannot contact directly to technical support.

The idea of this page https://fizz.ca/en/contact-us is to explain how you can access the chat bubble. If you do a search in the Solution Hub related to your issue and access the help page the chat bubble will appear at the right corner.

If the chat bubble does not appear, this means that the number of sessions waiting for our answers surpasses our processing capacity. If that happens, send us a private message via Facebook Messenger or Twitter.

If Fizz wants to be different and I believe it can, it needs to do what European carriers have been doing the last 10-15 years. Appeal to GenZ and GenAlpha. (I’m an old GenX, but always see the future).

It needs to position itself similar to how European carriers and SaskTEL here in Canada have gone.

I like that they have recognized the de-bundling. This is a critical first step. You shouldn’t need to have a call plan and text plan in order to have data. This is an odd Canadian fixation because Canada was so behind the rest of the world that it’s become embedded in its logic after it finally happened.

This is not what will appeal to future generations. The world moved on from that logic with data.

Sure have calls and SMS as a pay per use or value add ons, but what the younger generations will want is data on their phone. Like a tablet plan but they don’t want to walk around with a tablet. I would even say many are a bit anti-tablet because they likely had a tablet before a phone and see them a bit baby-ish.

All Canadian carriers apart from SaskTEL have an obsession not seen elsewhere in the world. That you can’t use a tablet plan in a cell phone. This logic must be broken to shake up the Canadian market and Fizz is perfectly placed to take advantage of that.

However, the critical price point is sub $20 or around that amount including GST and 911 fees that comes with around 3gb of data.

That’s the mass market point where parents will get a SIM card for their kids so their phones work like when they are on Wi-Fi.

I was excited to see on the old pricing that’s where Fizz were positioning themselves but they have now adjusted their prices and they have now priced themselves out of that mass market breakthrough point, only by $5, but it’s a physiological price point they have now broken and the bundled prices from major carriers is not too different.

Hopefully Fizz can reflect on this and decide what market they are hoping to capture in order to grow.

I like your point @MikeInCalgaryAB about dropping call plans when you want data. I almost did but chickened out :( afraid that my add-ons will cost me an arm and a leg. We are so indoctrinated...
