Buying a new Fizz phone with data only plan

Hi,

I'm looking to buy a new Pixel 8 Pro from Fizz but have a couple of questions. I'm on a small data only plan currently and want to just buy a handset outright. I can't tell if the price I'm being quoted is tied to monthly payments of X number of months or just a one off fee.

The second question is whether the handset is locked into my Fizz account or whether it is unlocked? I am likely only to be in Canada for another 9-12 months and don't want to get stuck when I move back to teh UK and cancel my Fizz plan.

Thanks!

Ed

As a fellow Fizz user, I can share some insights based on my experience and knowledge of Fizz's policies:

    1. Price of the Pixel 8 Pro: When you're looking to buy a phone like the Pixel 8 Pro from Fizz, the price quoted should be for the handset outright. Fizz typically sells phones without a contract or monthly payment plan, meaning you pay the full price upfront. However, it's always a good idea to double-check the details at checkout to ensure there are no monthly payment options selected or hidden costs.
    2. Lock Status of the Handset: In Canada, as per the regulations set by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), all phones sold by carriers, including Fizz, must be unlocked. This means that once you buy the Pixel 8 Pro from Fizz, it should be unlocked and you can use it with any other carrier's SIM card, both in Canada and abroad. This is particularly useful for you since you plan to move back to the UK. Just make sure to check the network compatibility in the UK for the model you're purchasing, as different countries use different network bands.

If you have any more questions or need further clarification, it's always a good idea to contact Fizz's customer service directly. They can provide the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding their policies and the products they sell. Hope this helps, and good luck with your new Pixel 8 Pro!
