Noisy modem

Hey everyone

My modem is strangely noisy lately. I got it more than three years ago, but I don’t think it was that noisy before.

there are humming and clicking noises.

Any idea why and how to stop it?

Can it be related on how the modem lately doesn’t send the signal as far?

    I've had two different modems in the course of 4 years and none of them have had this issue, but if the modem is placed on a surface which particularly accentuates vibrations, the fan inside can be causing it to make some noise.

    If the noise is particularly loud(er) even if it is picked off the surface, it could be dust/hair caught in the fan/motor.

    I would advice to try to hit it with a keyboard dust cleaner thing, but they don't tend to do an amazing job for enclosed dust/hair, which would require you to open the modem's assembly and physically remove said debris, which I do not recommend for potential warranty breach.

    TLDR ; If particularly loud, send a message to Fizz's support (not in this forum) and they can have it checked out. If the sound isn't too bad, make sure if doesn't overheat and put it on a vibration-absorbant surface.
