Will I lose use of my phone when 5G rolls out?

It is ludicrous that a perfectly functioning phone will no longer work!

Is there a way to keep using it even after 5G is rolled out?

    Hi @SuperFly

The problem with your phone is not the 5G but the VoLTE

At the moment your phone is not certified VoLTE, therefore, when the 3G will be not available in Canada anymore (probably in couple of year) you will not able to use the phone for the calls.

Fizz is offering special in order to change the phone, but you are not obliged to get a new phone at the moment if you are not planning to go in the USA.

    Here some information https://fizz.ca/en/faq/why-volte-important

As @Jess_i88b6 said, the issue it's the volte certification. Fizz has been a bit lazy not certifying phones that are perfectly compatible.. Honestly, a small discount for a new phone is not enough for convincing me to replace a perfectly working one. I will stick with mine as long as I can.

Yeah same thing happened to me, luckily my phone is VoLTE compatible. I think as of now a VoLTE card is only needed when travellling.
