Calling over Wifi

Did we loose calling over wifi or did we just never have it? I just helped my mom move over to Fizz from Bell and now we are both significantly impaired, having no phone or data when inside her home. I am convinced that I had wifi calling working before, as I knew connectivity was never great in her home. Could this have been working either prior to VoLTE or before IOS17. Now we are not sure if she can keep this service. Any timelines floating out there?

Unfortunately, it's not really known but Fizz doesn't offer this yet. A friend of mine also needed this service and had to go elsewhere. I'm sorry for you and your mother...

Nope we never officially had Wi-Fi calling. Maybe you accidentally had it. There are no timelines as far as I can tell.

I think Fizz does not offer wifi calling yet, and never before. You can use face time or iMessage while at home with internet connection

Can't wait for this to be a feature. Videotron offers it. More reliable that VoLTE when I'm at my cabin.

We have a fibre optic connection for the internet at the cabin, so Wi-Fi is never an issue, although LTE is spotty at best.
