Received gifted data from a Quebec Plan. Will the gifted data work in the US in my Canada + US plan?

They must work in Ontario and USA if we are reading the FAQ
Gifted data always match the recipient’s coverage. For example, if you have Quebec coverage and gift data to someone with Canada - US coverage, the data you gift will have Canada - US coverage

However, to one user the Whizz (The Fizz employé) said that he was not able to use the data in USA, since they guy finished the data from his plan and the data received as gifted was not working there. I believe that it was a Whizz mistake.
I never had any problem with the gifted data in the USA.

It will only work in Quebec. I went to Toronto and needed to buy add on
