Anyone having trouble with their Fizz Wi-fi modem?
Hello there,
Has anyone been having trouble with their Fizz wifi modem? My connection often drops out while I am online during the day. I work from home and use the connection all day. I have been lucky so far not to get cut off during a meeting, but I have lost connection to my work server and online calls.
Also, has anyone been able to VPN their Fizz modem?

For the VPN the fizz modem doesn't have any VPN client, you should buy a router with this function and configure the modem in bridge mode.
It will be good to restart your modem and router: Sometimes simply unplugging your modem and router for a few minutes and then plugging them back in can fix connectivity issues.
Or you can also try a factory reset the modem, however, this is more time-consuming, since you need to reconfigure the password after
Using a small, sharp object, press the modem’s reset button for 10 seconds.
Once your modem has restarted, follow the same instructions you used when you initially installed it.
), wait 15 minutes and then redo the installation process by following the details found here : https://fizz.ca/en/faq/how-install-my-wi-fi-modem and check if the issue persists, since we saw that there might be some driver issues with the device itself.

restart the fizz modem once a week
Why Should You Restart Your Wifi Router Once A Week? It Avoids Lots of Worries
As we have seen, restarting solves problems of slowness. But why ? It's just a technical question . The box consists of an operating system with a processor and a memory. The latter must recognize all devices connected to it and retain all IP addresses. Over time, it gets tired and the connection becomes slow. Worse if you have two devices that have the same IP address: this will cause a conflict slowing down the box. This is why it must be restarted regularly. It's kind of a little technical "cleaning up". Besides, it has another use. That of making the updates necessary for its proper functioning. But also to identify possible viruses and clean them. At least it avoids paying for a technician's trip.
