When could we expect finally an equipment upgrade for the Internet plans?
Hitron Coda-4680 is already several years old, and since nowadays devices are nearly obsolete after only 2 years, I'm wondering when Fizz - a telecommunication service provider -, will finally make the decision to try and stay current with the latest technologies. That model has been having issues and bugs nearly ever since the release date of the first version. People, including lots of your customers, have been complaining about it for years. And the only answer people seem to get in response to this is to go and buy some other wireless router to be used in bridge mode still with your low-performance equipment. When will Fizz start to take into consideration their customers' and users' needs and requests?
Thanks in advance 🙂

This!!! There is no reason for doing that. They change the equipment only for new customers or if the existing equipment is not compatible with a new service...

That’s an excellent question… I hope you’ll get the answer it deserves. That means something else than a prefabricated corporate line…

Well, indeed good question. As long as it is supported by the manufacturer (firmware upgrades, etc.) it's considered as good.
In short these models are good for 2-5 years.

Anyway, with current speeds, nothing justifies changing the modem... It won't go any faster!

Agree, but speed is not the issue here, it’s the reliability…

That's a good point... however, it would be a huge expense for Fizz, which is not justifiable for the moment...

Do you really think that any ISP would change all their customer Modem for free every 2 or 5 years ?

Why in the world would they change a modem that is capable of offering speeds that exceed what is actually offered in their internet plans...
