If I activate call forwarding to another number before leaving Canada (Montreal) , will I still receive SMS/Text messages with my travel add-on ?

    The answer is in your question actually 😉, you are activating call forwarding only which should not impact your SMS.

    Seeing as Fizz is the first mobile carrier that I've ever used unable to make or receive calls outside of Canada - USA, I thought I'd double check before presuming it would work. Thank you for the quick response.

    Hi @MPL

    This depends on the call forwarding method you have activated. If you have enabled universal call forwarding, this means that all incoming calls will be forwarded to another number, including SMS and MMS.

     However, if you have activated another type of call forwarding, such as conditional call forwarding, this may not affect the reception of SMS and MMS. 

    It is therefore important to check your call forwarding configuration to see if you will still receive SMS and MMS with your travel plan.


    Here are the steps to follow in order to contact the service about this matter if it should become necessary:


    1Log in to your account (see top right)

    2- Any ad blocker in your browser must be disabled. 

    3-You should be on a help page:

    https://fizz.ca/fr/faq/resoudre-un-enjeu

    4- The green bubble should appear at the bottom right of the page, click and choose chat.


    If the chat bubble still does not appear at the bottom right of the page after a few seconds, it is because the number of pending sessions is greater than the service's processing capacity. At this point, you can leave a message on the other communication channels offered:
