I am leaving for 6 months overseas. What happens to my account /sim card/number?

Is it possible to keep it active ?

Yes,

Keep in mind, changing your plan you will lose your current price.

After 6 months, when you restore your plan to its current place, it might cost more.

Although minimizing it to 12$ a month is great for saving money.
