Why can't I change my mobile plan?

Today is September 22nd. My next billing cycle starts on September 26th. I want to change my plan for the next cycle, but I'm getting a pop-up that says "no change can be made before 09-26." I know plans renew 72 hours before the next cycle, but I am not within that window (but I will be soon, which is why I want to change my plan now!) What's going on?

    Important: A freeze period is in effect 108 hours (4.5 days) before the end of your payment cycle, during which time no changes can be made to your plan.

    Wow, that is extremely obnoxious of Fizz 🙄

    They claim to be all about no hidden fees but it's pretty insidious to say that your plan renews 72 hours before the next cycle, but changes have to be made 108 hours before...

    I've been considering switching providers for a couple of reasons (having access to my regular plan while travelling in the U.S. was a big incentive for me to stay, but they just changed that too) and this might be the final straw.
