My garage door opener in Wi-Fi enabled. I can see on my list of connected devices that the garage door opener is connected to the router and has a strong signal but it won’t program. I contacted the manufacturer customer service and checked that all the router settings are correct (2.4ghz, correct channel, correct security encryption etc.)

The only thing I that is beyond my knowledge and I cannot figure out is “Verify inbound and outbound TCP port 8883 is open.” How do I do this? I don’t even know what that means. Thanks!

    Hello,

Look at the number 4, Band Steering can cause issues to some devices.

For the outbound, you dont have anything to do. For the inbound, are they asking you to open the port or just not block the return? If it's not to block the return, which it certainly is, that's already done by default. If they want you to open the port to expose your door opener direcly to Internet, change your garage door opener! In 2022, it makes no sense for a system to ask for that ;)
