manual access to voice mail from landline not working

Hi, I have set activated and set up my voice mail and it is working fine. However, I cannot access my voice mail from a landline phone. Whenever I dial 1-514-647-0999 and enter my phone number after prompt, I hear the message "that doesn't seem right." I tried entering with 1 and without. No success! Do I have to contact support or is there another trick? Thank you!

Calling from a landphone may be long distance calling. But the main point is you need dial tone to communicate with your voicemail. Make sure it's set ON on your landphone.

As I said, I tried it once on my landphone with dial tone , and it didn't work, and it adds phone charges ($0.10 per minute) in my case.

It's cheaper and easier to use SKYPE from your cellphone (3.1 cents per minute) if you intend to do it often.

I tried it on my land phone also just to see if it works, and same as you - doesn't work.

I think this is normal, because you have to call from your cellphone, otherwise your voicemail won't know who is calling.

According to the FAQ, it is possible to access your voice mail from a different phone.
