Data not working, but I should have 10GB left

The data part of my cellulat plan isn't working. Strangely, the account page says "Data 0 / 10.78 GB". I don't use the phone for streaming or anything and those 10GB have accumulated over time (the plan is 4GB/month). What's going on ?!?

I've activated a perk, 1GB data, and now it says "Data 1 / 11.78 GB". The data still isn't working on the phone. Again, what's going on?

Login to your account any time to see how much data, minutes and text messages you have used during the current payment cycle for any plans that are on your account.

View your current data usage and remaining data in your plan :

    1. Go to My Plans in your Fizz account.
    2. Scroll to see a usage summary for each Plan associated with your Account.
    3. Click on 'Details' to see more informations
To consult your complete usage history included in your monthly plan (Data, Calls, Text):

    1. Go to My Plans in your Fizz account.
    2. Into 'Manage Plan' menu
    3. Click on 'Usage reports'

    Hi,

here's how to contact Fizz’s support team directly to inquire about that issue, they will be able to do some further investigation to correct this situation as well as provide you precise answers. You can do it by opening the following link: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/status-services and simply scroll down until you see the green bubble, than click on it to start your chat session with the customer service.

If the chat bubble still does not appear at the bottom of the page, on the right, after a few seconds, the number of pending sessions is higher than the service’s processing capacity. At that time, you can leave a message on the other proposed communication channels:

-By private message on Facebook/Messenger: https://facebook.com/fizzca.

-By private message on Twitter : https://mobile.twitter.com/fizz_ca

    -Whatsapp : (438) 393-5814

Hello @Tudor P. , it may seem odd but check the APN settings of your device, whether data is set on and roaming enabled and if you have a mobile data limit set/triggered on your device. If all is as it should be, reboot, try again, reset network settings to factory and re-install the Fizz APN settings, reboot.

Thanks for the help, guys! I've checked the things, turns out, I've "burned" some 10GB in a month - quite impossible, but that's another story. Got some data from the wife and now everything's ok. I'll have to check how those 10 gigs went away... :)

The amount of data your phone uses may vary depending on how you use it, which native installations are running on it, and which applications you have installed.

Some applications, native or not, can use your mobile data in the background.

For example, cloud-based apps such as Google Drive or Apple iCloud could be using your data to automatically backup your photos, videos, and documents.

Some streaming music or video services can also download content in the background.

Fizz provides you with handy tools to keep you informed about your mobile data usage:

    • A usage metre (visible when you first sign in to your account) tells you how fast you are consuming your minutes and your data, compared to the amount available in your plan.
    • Notifications at 75%, 90% and 100% of your usage.

Note: You must log into your account and activate notifications at 75% and 90% usage. If you do not, you will only receive a notification when you are at 100% of your usage.

You can also check your mobile data usage directly via your phone.

The steps to follow to check your data usage can vary depending on the type of phone you have. Here are two examples:

AndroidSettings → Connections → Data usage → Mobile data usage

iPhoneSettings → Cellular → Cellular data usage

Wow!, thank you! Yes, I've checked (in Android 12, the access path is a bit different, but the search function gets you there) and... Google Play Store "burned" over 7.5GB of data! I've got to find a way to block that...

Found it, blocked background data. Hopefully, it'll solve my problem for the future.
