not allowing me to change company

So Fizz wont let me change my phjone number to another company. My plan is done I am not renewing. They are forcing me to pay a full month to allow me to have my number.

isnt this theft? force me to pay for a month knowing that the second its activated the other company is taking over the line

    You can't port out an inactive line. This is NOT a Fizz rule, it is pretty much the same across the industry, even in the US (had same thing with AT&T). So you should have ported the number before your month expired. I have always planned my portings during the last week of any service I've had.

    It's unfortunate, but if you want to port out the number on the line you will not have much of a choice but to reactivate the service, even if you won't use it.

    Only thing you may be able to do, is chat with customer service, and see if they can change your "default" plan to the lowest one (which is $12 - with nothing included). But you may need to add some $ in your wallet to be able to send out a text message when you get the request to confirm the out port (or just add unlimited text messages for $3). Yes it will cost you $15, but at least you will be done with it afterwards.

    It is not theft. Fizz is a prepaid service. The moment you pay for a month, you pay for the whole month, even though you cancel on the first day of that month.

    Hi Philippe,

    to keep your phone number at a new provider, first and foremost, DO NOT cancel your current Fizz service — only active phone numbers can be transferred to a new provider.

    In a situation like that, would it be possible to switch to the smallest plan possible just to have the line active to process with the transfer?
