Bug report for iphones when saving fizz.ca to home screen

Hello Fizz,

I tried to put the website fizz.ca to my homescreen on my Iphone 12 Pro, IOS 15.0.1. The instructions are here, at the first iteration : https://fizz.ca/en/faq/what-are-fizz-apps.

However, when I tried it, the url is https://fizz.ca/offline.html :

and when I tried to open the "app", I get this error :


I am pretty sure the issue is the URL is pointing me to an offline html page, so obviously there's no connection. But why is the URL pointing me to an offline html page? I know I can always search via safari, but I would like to have this additional feature.

    Add your Fizz account page. Fizz's own home page did the same issue you have. I clicked on "My Account" and I added this page on my iPhone home screen and it works like a charm.

    At first glance I assumed this was an iPhone issue. However I just tried it with my Android phone, and with Both chrome and firefox and on chrome I get a small bar on the bottom asking to pin to home screen, and it does the same. From Firefox, from the menu, I selected the "add to home screen" option and it yielded the same.

    Tried it with some other sites and it works fine (example: tmobile.com site).

    So obviously there is something in the coding of the main Fizz page which is causing this.

    I guess the easiest work around is to just create a bookmark in your browser, rather than a home page shortcut.

    • Wait 3 seconds for the green bubble with a '?' appears at the bottom right of the browser, if you use a phone you must use it in desktop or horizontal mode
    • Choose the option 💬 chat
    • If the green bubble does not appear make sure your ad blocker is disabled, otherwise try with another browser.

    PS: For me the only combination that works for CHAT, is Firefox, in a private window, and only when in the French language..

    Other means of contact

    CHAT however is the quickest method, but facebook is the easiest.

    Thank you Emporium for the long answer and how to reach them. I will definitely do that in the future. However, the fix from @Doomdrou worked like a charm, so I decided to do that.
