Hello, new user here! This is my first time looking at Cable internet. I have always used DSL in my life. Fizz says my address supports Cable but what if it doesn't? Is there a cancellation policy if it turns out that Cable is not supported at my address?

    Hi Song

When Fizz say available at your adress it's because they will do whatever it's take to give you the service and if it not they will refund you and they keep the modem. You don't have to send it back.

And if you want to cancel after you received your modem, read this from fizz

If you cancel your Home Internet services agreement during a payment cycle, you will receive a prorated refund based on the remaining days for the monthly fee paid at the beginning of your payment cycle.

This prorated refund will be processed once your Wi-Fi modem has been received by Fizz. Based on the date at which you return your modem, expect a delay of approximately 4 to 6 weeks before receiving your refund.

Important: You have 15 days following the date you unsubscribe to return your Wi-Fi modem, or else you will be charged the amount of $225 (plus applicable taxes). Detailed instructions will follow.

How do I return my Wi-Fi modem?

    Hi @Song

If Fizz says that your address is supported it is because there is a Videotron cable that is accessible on the street in front of your address.

So when the Videotron technicien come at your place he will manage to make everything work downto your modem inside.

Worst case, if the house/building is not wired, he will install and connect a cable from the street to the inside of your house/building. Free of charge.

If Fizz says your address supports cable, it supports cable. Do not worry about it, the technician will connect your house to your street's cable network if it hasn't already been done.

    Hi @Song

Basically, if it says it is supported, that means if CAN be installed since videotron network is available in that area. When the technician delivers the modem, he will run a cable into your home, where you want it. The first connection is included even with the basic self installation.

Note: Instal the first outlet (or relocate the existing one) is free of charge for your first technician appointment.

However, IF you live in a rental apartment or condo, you will need permission from the landlord, in order to allow the technician to drill a hole in the wall, to be able to run the cable in from the outside.

Based on the nature of the work required, the technician may have to drill, for example, a hole in an exterior wall. If you are a building tenant, make sure you have the owner’s written authorization beforehand for such circumstances. If the building owner is on site, his verbal agreement will suffice for the tech. If you have shared ownership of your property, it’d be important for you to be familiar with the rules of your association in regard to such matter.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hello, as others have pointed out, Fizz Internet is available wherever Videotron has cable and they have all this mapped out. If there is no cable to your house, the technician will install a new cable. If the website allows you to order Fizz Internet, then you will get it.
