Upload speed

My upload speed is around 0.25 Mbps. It was and is supposed to be 1.5 Mbps. Tests are done with wired and wireless connections and through different websites. My download speed is still 10 Mbps which is fine based on my plan. I think Fizz should think of a quick solution, otherwise, I will open a case like I previously did, about this issue with CRTC. Is there any other quick solution now?

    Hi Ali,

perform some speed tests using the Fizz Wi-Fi app. This app is available for free on Google Play Store and Apple Store.

Do multiple tests with different devices and at multiple locations around your home.

Compare the results obtained at the downstream (Download) and upstream (Download) speeds of your Fizz Home Internet plan.

If possible, also a speed test with a device plugged in using a network cable (RJ45) directly into the Wi-Fi modem.

You can also perform a speed test using any website or app of your choice.

*Make sure you choose a speed test that uses a local server.

*Some sites only offer test servers located overseas. It could skew your results.

Hello, I would suggest you unplug your modem/router for at least 30 seconds and try again. Sometimes this simple step clears any 'gremlins'. I use fast.com for my speed tests, it is very simple and user-friendly unlike other sites which have information overload. I hope this info helps. If not, contact Fizz Customer Service to give them an opportunity to resolve the issue if on their end.

Can you Use the Fizz Wi-Fi app to conduct a speed test ? That will tell you what speed the modem is actually doing. IF it doesn't match what you are getting on your PC, then time to check your equipment.

It is not a general network problem since I am always pretty much at advertised speeds (120/20 profile)

Contact customer service if problem persists.

I did so Clive. I did the real reset. Used a cabled connection. Disconnected other devices. Used different websites, including Videotron, fast and the one that comes up on google. Obviously, Fizz app is not a true option! The upload is still always under 0.40.
