Regular timeout/long replies on HTTP requests

Good day,

I'm in the Montreal area and have been having an intermittent issue (the best kind to try and fix πŸ˜…) with my internet connection (120 down, 20 up). Mostly related to timings of some HTTPS responses.

Speedtests over the last 18hours show a close-to-perfect result:

But the HTTP response rate on the other hand is not quite the same... I often get timeouts or slow response from regular HTTP/HTTPS requests (see peaks and valleys on the graph):

Last 24hrs:

Last night from 19:30 UTC-4 to 00:30 UTC-4:

Is any body else encountering this type of issue?

I've also encountered this sporadically as well. When it does occur, I generally reboot the modem and the issue gets resolved.

    1. Unplug the power cable on your Wi-Fi modem.
    2. Make sure all the lights on the modem are off once you have unplugged it.
    3. Wait ten (10) seconds.
    4. Plug your modem back into the electrical outlet. Expect about a three (3) minute delay to allow your devices to reconnect to the internet.

It does happen every once in a while. Unsure what causes it, but the quick reboot fixes it every time for me.

    Good luck!

Yes your best chance is to unplug the router OR factory reset
