how about SMS?

how about Internet ?

do I have to buy services from Canada or what needs to be done.

If you don’t use an add-on, you will pay the international pay-as-you-go rates for your zone. See more info here: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/how-do-i-use-pay-as-you-go

You must have sufficient funds in your wallet.

Especially for Europe I recommend an add-on though. They are valid for almost all countries in the Union and are very cost effective.

Whatever is not included in the add-on will be charged according to the international pay as you go rates for your zone.

The best solution and the cheapest in my opinion is to get a locally prepaid sim card that covers much of Europe, like Orange, O2 Three UK, you can easily find them even at airports, chhose the ones that suits your needs, more data, roaming...

Make sure your contacts are stored in your phone, not on your Canadian sim card, otherwise you'll not have access to your contacts.

Make sure that your cellphone is unlocked.
