How to have Internet when someone is apparently using my address?

Apparently, the installer refused to install Internet because someone already has it with MY address. I can’t order a new installation date because of that (the system just won’t) and it really pissed me off. I waited 2 weeks for the installation just to be told that it cannot be done. How can I have Fizz Internet now???

The technician didn't leave you the modem ?

Right now you need to wait for there system to update, you will be able to take another appointment.

If the system let you take the appointment, the install wont happen as long as the old tenant didn't move hes service to another adress.

Did you make a change (appartment number) to the same appointment you had or cancel it and take a new one ?

Is it your first installl or did you move ?

It's weird you shouldn't be able to order a new install or move your service if there is a service already active in the adress, the system would've blocked you from doing so.

If you moved and already have a modem just plug it to the cable it should work (hopefully).

It is a new install and I changed apartment whilst the appointment was made (same building but better apartment) but I figured it wouldn't be a problem. The installer said he'd have to cancel the appointment and I'd have to make a new one but I still cannot do anything and I can't select my current apartment since someone apparently is "already installed there". It really pisses me off, this is insane.

No, he said he could not leave the modem to a different address. So because of some unaware old tenant, I can't go with Fizz because their system is not letting me... Nice...

Even if I have another appointment and I get the modem, I won't be able to connect Internet if the old tenant still has his account there?

And thanks for your help btw, it is helpful although the situation is frustrating and really pushes me to go with a different Internet provider since I have such an unpleasant first attempt with Fizz...

So the appointment is for another address if i understand correctly? You physically moved to another appartment and didnt change the appointment adress?

I understand your frustration. Because of how it works maybe your old tenant is waiting for hes old tenant to move hes service who knows.

Maybe it's a bad start but once you get the service it's good, stable and cheap.

Maybe try contacting the old tenant just to know if he's planing to move hes internet anytime soon.

Yes, I physically moved but the appointment was already settled and I was unable to register the new address since it was "unavailable". I contacted the landlord to have the old tenant's phone number earlier today, I'll see what I can get out of it.

    Thanks for your help

The old tenant confirms that he changed his address 2 weeks ago but I still can't order my Internet. There seems to be a bug in Fizz' system. What else can I do?

Try again to order the install from the website with the correct adress, if that doesn't work only fizz can help you. Chat with them.
