Activating the new internet immediately

I'm in a new apartment and I've brought with me my Fizz router. I still took an appointment for the 7th of July, but I'd need to have internet before then for work and I don't need a new router. Why couldn't I just plug it in today and have it be activated tomorrow morning? Is there some way to do that?

    You can plug your modem if it works that's good for you if not you'll need to wait the technician's visit.

    There is no way around it.
