Question about payment cycles

"For your Home Internet service:
The date on which you receive your Fizz Wi-Fi modem is the anniversary date for your Home Internet plan, and this date marks the start of your payment cycle each month."

I received my modem last week but my first payment was processed 2 weeks before that (in February).

Also , it's just a small amount but when I go to the Fizz homepage the monthly cost is $45 (before taxes) but I've been billed $47 .

Thanks

    Welcome to Fizz @LdeC ,

It is not normal to be charged before you have the device. My payment cycles go with the modem delivery and SIM activation dates.

For strange billing issues like this I'd suggest you contact Fizz.

Mind you, there were billing issues 2 weeks ago that were affecting a lot of clients.

FYI, visit the following sections of your account for transaction details:

Since you are new, be aware that this forum is mostly for mutual help between customers. Chat bubble is the best tool to reach Fizz.

     To chat:

    1. Go to a FAQ page e.g. https://fizz.ca/en/faq/resolving-issues
    2. Look bottom right for the big green question mark
    3. Click it, a bubble will appear
    4. Submit your question with possibly a relevant screenshot
    5. After that will be displayed the number of customers preceding you, to manage your expectations. Updated real time.

ALTERNATIVELY, try leaving a message on Facebook Messenger, iMessage or Twitter private.

    Thanks for your answer ldefizz

I went to the "Contact us" page and went thru the suggested steps . Since the Chat option comes after Step 1 I kind of missed it.

The answer that I got thru that chat channel is :

"You don't have to worry about, as the first payment is taken in advance when the order is placed."

Thanks for your feedback, it helps forum members, including me.

Now that's interesting. When I got on board a while ago it was a matter of hours for SIM or 1-2 days for modem so either my memory is not serving me well or they changed their politics a bit. Good to know.

All in all, the answer they gave you is quite reassuring, as they will surely take this into account for next billings.

    Cheers!

I got pre-charged too when I signed up for the internet. Fizz takes an advance payment for the month. The actual payment cycle, however, starts with the activation once the router has been set up :)
