Can I change my modem location inside my house?

The modem is currently at a lower level from our offices in our house. I would like to know if there are other wall connections available on different levels so we can switch the modem position and try connecting to it via cable. Is this possible?

If you have the cable connexion you can, otherwise you need to pay to add a new outlet

Yes you can if your coax cable is long enough. If not,you can always add coax cable in your house and reconnect your modem to it.

Hi Guys,
So, I have the cable connection inside the room where I work - without a cable attached to it.
Is it just a matter of getting the modem up here, plugging it into the wall, and all done?

Should be the case. At least that’s how it usually works. If the connection is compatible with Fizz of course

If you have a connection else where in your house, you can just give it a try. After connecting the modem and turning it on, you'll see if the lights are turned on. Not bad will happen and at worst it won't work and you'll have to put it back to its original place.

So yeah, I tried to connect it but the lights were just blinking and I got no connection. Guess I will have to call FIZZ and ask them to setup things for us!
But I really appreciate all the comments and replies!

Thinking about it, do you know how the cables are connected in your house?
Where does the cable in your office ends?
Does it go outside or is it ending with a splitter somewhere.
If it is just an extension, you could use a coaxial joiner (https://www.amazon.ca/Female-Coax-Cable-Joiner-Pack/dp/B001330WRE) to join it with the actual working cable.

Try with another outlet if you have one in the room you would place the modem.

You better buy and use a additional router/extender like a Dlink or alike. (Cost 35$-80$ Don’t buy cheap unknown brand but don’t need the too expensive. You can expand your range inside the house and optimize the speed.
