Is it possible to schedule an appointment before the wifi gets canceled from the former occupants?

My friends left the apartment along with the functioning wifi. I cannot schedule an appointment for the setting up of the wifi before their plan is completely done. Is there anyway around this? Can I buy a second hand modem and install it directly after?

If the previous tenant has Fizz, no this is not possible
You can do some work around, but I do not want to suggest something which is not supported
If the previous provider is not Fizz yes you can, and if you need a referral
This is also a good time to join Fizz as they are giving $50 bonus credit to new customers (until January 6 2021).

To find out if you are eligible for Fizz home internet, you can go here to simulate a registration

Select your plan and enter your address. If you are eligible, you can enter your payment information and select an installation date.
On the installation date, the technician will bring the Fizz modem and hook up the cabling into your home. You can consult the overall Fizz guide here: https://fizz.ca/en/internet/how-it-works
Unfortunately it is not possible to transfer an existing plan from one account to another: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/it-possible-transfer-my-plan-another-account
If your friends are already subscribed with Fizz internet, you will have to wait until the existing plan is cancelled before you can register a new subscription at the same address.

Please, when this plan will be canceled, check the adress on the web site if this service is available.
If you can subscribe do it online and fix an appointment with the technician for your installation.
