Is it possible to reduce my data usage to 0 on my mobile plan and use gifted data?

Yes it's possible to change your plan each month. Just be sure to make the request at least 48 hours prior to your renewal date.

It is important to note that each time you make a plan change, you have to pay the current price at the time of your change. If the price changes, you cannot get back the old price that you had.
For example, the prices now of the zero data plan and 1 GB plan are exactly the same. For this reason, you may want to consider taking a 1 GB plan, as it will cost the same as selecting a plan without data.

Everytime you change your plan you end up paying the actual price, therefore, check the new price.
In December fizz change the price for the new customers

Since an upgrade boosts your monthly plan, your plan must include that service in the first place for that upgrade to work. Say for example you receive mobile data upgrade: your plan has to include mobile data for you to enjoy an upgrade consisting of mobile data.

Since a plan with 1 Go is now the same price as a plan without data, why don't you take 1 Go in your plan ?

This is what I'm presently doing. It will be a sad day when I'll need to change my plan in order to use the data bonuses.

Yes you can change your mobile plan and decide to not take data for a while and use you perks of data.
However, take note that Fizz has change the price of their mobile plans and verify if it's a good decision for you..

I wanted to do the same and noticed it doesn't change your bill at the end... the 1Go mobile plan is at the same price than 0Go. As the others said, Fizz changed the mobile plans recently... happyly for the ones who wanted a small plan with 1 Go, and sadly for the ones like us who have enough data in bank. So, best plan to me : you can keep your data plan and give your gifts to win badges ;-)

Yes you can do it, but you will lose beta price and pay full price, which is higher than what you paid now .
