Does Fizz and videotron have simultaneous outages

Can switching to videotron fix outage problems that I have with fizz or are they all linked and results in simultaneous outages when it happens?

this depends from where the problem is since they share the last mile same technology.

Ifin your neighbour there is a problem with the coaxial cable, this will affect both services.

If the problem is with the authentication, routing they will affect the single provider (this is true for 90% of the problems)

Short answer to your question is Yes, if Videotron cable feeding your neighborhood is down for one reason or other then, all in the area served with that cable are down. But the repair doesn't take long they fix the problem within short period.
