Poor Cellular reception in Vaudreuil. Only 2 bars, sometimes only 1. Is this normal?

I have been with Fizz for almost 2 years now, since the Beta days, and today I take some time to ask this question.
My cellular reception is poor. Most of the time, I only get 1 bar ( on a possible 5 ) on the reception logo. A lot of my friends have other providers where it always roams between 4 to 5 bars at all times.
Is there some settings on the phone that can help boost the signal?
Please advise

Hi Andre,
Like you suspect, the problem could be with your phone.
Is there anyone you know with Fizz who has the same problem in your area ?7 -
Andre you can try a booster in your place. But... no warranty... here are the towers in Canada if you want to check. https://www.ertyu.org/steven_nikkel/cancellsites.html6

Hello Andre
Does your phone work well? If yes, I would not be too concerned with this.
Also if your friends are willing to help out, you could try swapping SIM card with them to test out whether it is a hardware or service issue. You can also see the signal strength (dB) in your phone settings.7 -
Hi Andre!
I have the same issue at my mother's house in Laval Saint-Rose. They are using Videotron as mobile provider. We both experience this lack of signal when I'm there and we have contacted videotron's customer service to inquire. They are currently working on the situation.
If you have a friend with videotron, might as well check their signal so you can identify if the problem is the phone or the provider.

It's not normal. The reception is excellent in Vaudreuil. You should check on your mobile side4

Andre,
I think that the problem is your phone.
Can you switche your sim card in another phone?0 -
Hi Andre. Some phones display different bars (less) even they work very well. There is no standard for "bars". We have more phones here, in the same place, and they not show the same number of bars. Also, moving in house from N to S window, change the number of bars of few phones (but not all). Is strange that changing the provider (Fido-> Rogers-> Fizz) doesn't change the number of bars. I think that is a problem of place/location (concrete walls, metallic structures, big buildings or trees, etc) and phone sensitivity, or (if the signal is ok and stable) just a different way to display bars.5
