Any well made splitter should work.3

Anything splitter model would work. The lower the cost, the more the quality lost in the process of splitting.3

I agree with the others. I would be curious to know if there is any difference in your speed/ jitter/ ping after splitting the line.4

Let me re-phrase that..... what splitter does Videotron use?3

The one I got from Videotron is too old. Any bidirectional splitter 5-3GHz will be fine. On sale now!

My answer went to moderation. You can use any bidirectional splitter rated 5-3Ghz. I have old splitters from Videotron, but they don't work for some reason. The source has these on sale.3

Glenn56 one friend of mine has a splitter for Fizz and Tv with videotron and he bought it from Best buy. Very simple model and it’s ok.2

The only one I see at Best Buy (in-store) is 2GHz. Should that work? And I'll need another coaxial cable too, is RG6 recommended?
Surprised Fizz doesn't supply this (splitter and 1' cable).

I don't think that's true, I have a couple of ancient splitters that are for up to 900MHz or something, not even good for HDTV, and I'm pretty sure high-speed internet needs faster.

This is the one Videotron Installed for me a while back, and I have no issues with it.
It's a 1Ghz splitter, and I presently have 120Mbps internet and it is perfectly fine. It's less than $10 for sure.

Why do you need a coax splitter?

In my case, they had installed it, since I used to have Videtron analong cable :) Yes, that was a thing back then.
Also, where I asked them to install the modem, was a temporary location, and final location was going to be in my utility room, which was not ready back when I bought the house. So they installed splitter and ran 2 lines, so I could swap when I was ready. The first tech that ever did my install was great. Even for my TV, he ran one line into the basement area, and then when he realized we were still playing with the layout, he pulled an extra 20ft of cable out of the box, before crimping on the end, and told me, "just in case you decide to put the TV on the other side of the room" :)
However today some people still have videotron Illico, or home phone, and they will need a splitter to go to the various devices that are served by the same coax.
