Why is Fizz internet so much cheaper?

When I spoke to Ebox they said Fizz received a different rate from Videotron than they did. Is that true? If anyone knows a bit more of the story I'm curious.
Oxio is even cheaper. I wonder if it's trustworthy though.

The fact is Fizz and Videotron are both owned by Quebecor.
Ebox says they cannot compete, while Oxio (a new company) is offering low prices.

As we saw with Fizz, newer companies will offer low prices to get the word out and that more people will notice them. Fizz also offers on-going rewards.
Fizz is 100% online, so their model allows everyone to save on customer service costs.

The question could be asked differently : why home Internet is so expensive in Canada compared to other countries like : US and European countries ?

So Fizz and Oxio are not cheap. They simply offer prices that Canadian are suppsed to pay.

It depends on what technology they use ... Some companies use cable, adsl, fiber, and this is very important for the quality of the Internet, and the price may change because of it.
