You can keep your phone number for sure. but contact fizz first. they will confirm that to you.
also after you cancel any line that phone number stays locked for a year or so4 -
You cannot keep the phone number, if you cancel the plan
You can reduce the plan to the minimum then 10$ + 0.46$ 911 fees + TX
Or you can also cancel the plan reactivate within 60 days, after 60 days you will lose the number therefore you need to reactivate at the minimum5 -
Hayou,
If you want to keep your phone number, you cant cancel your mobile plan.
Only, change your mobile plan and take only the minimum (coverage of Quebec) (without any other options), it costs10.46$ plus taxes/month.5 -
Ok in that case my bad. sorry. I just checked what my friend did was using an external service.

The only way you can keep your number is if it is hosted by a telephone service provider (mobile phone, land line, VoIP).
If you cancel your plan without "porting out" your number to another provider, you will loose your number and eventually it will be reassigned to someone in a year or so.
Your options are keep fizz plan with no voice and no data. Will cost the minimum.
Other option is to port it (have it transferred) to another service. There are some phone services on the internet that offer this for a minimal fee, but it still costs money every month.7 -
No you cannot, you need to pay each month3

You can keep your phone number by first transferring it to another provider. If you don't have another mobile provider that you will use, you can try a voip provider and pay a small monthly fee to keep it alive. If you don't have a voip account, maybe a friend who has a voip account can help you out with that. Voip phone number at voip.ms as an example costs $1 per month to maintain. When you return, you can then ask to transfer it back.
P.S. just noticed someone else (Pascal) had a similar response to mine1 -
