Can I have a digital phone on with Fizz modem off, using same Internet connection?

My Fizz internet connection is recent and works fine but I keep power bar to modem off when I don't need Internet for computer. I want to replace my traditional telephone line with a digital line connected to Internet, using the splitter connected to the Internet cable coming into to the dwelling. Using the splitter, can the digital phone be active all the time, with modem off? I want to make sure before ordering digital line.
My other question (unrelated) is: Can I keep wifi broadcast off but use only ethernet with the Fizz modem (Model CODA-4680)?

Usually the internet phones are connected with the ethernet cable to the router and not to the coaxial cable, if this is the case, therefore connected with the ethernet cable, no you need the router on
Yes you can disable the wifi and only use the ethernet cable6 -
No. You will need your modem on for your phone with a digital line.5
