Can I send texts messages from Ontario with Quebec coverage?

Hi everyone,
I understand that calling from Ontario is not included in the Quebec coverage, but is it the same for text messages? If I send a text message from Ontario with a Quebec coverage plan, will I be charged for every text I send?
Also, just to make sure... iMessages do not count as text messages, correct?

Outside your coverage area, you need to pay to send SMS
Or you buy an addons or add the fund in the fizz’s wallet

If you do not have an addons or money in your Fizz’s wallet you will not be charged, you will not be able to send them,

If with iMessage you send a message to any other person with iMessage you need data, therefore, mobile data or WiFi

I guess your phone just won't work. It will say something like: "This function is not available" or smith similar

if you send the message it will probably not go thru or fizz will send you a text saying that you need an addon to send the text but you will not be charged

Hi Kurt,
Fizz is prepaid, so in short, no you won’t be charged for every text you send. Although, the texts might simply not go through. So no need to worry about getting charged for texts unless you’re using an add on which is a different story.

Im not sure what will happen if you have a Quebec coverage plan and try texting/calling from Ontario. But, i know that even with a Quebec coverage plan, you can send SMS’s everywhere (i’ve done Ontario, Slovenia & Barbados. they all went through).

As for iMessage, it’s not a SMS. you don’t need a Mobile Plan for that. it uses wifi to send the messages to other apple users, but you can also send them using data/LTE from your mobile plan too.

Fizz doesn’t tell you if a SMS doesn’t go through. Only your phone will. Fizz only says that your current plan cannot make this call when you try dialling a number out of your coverage area.
