Call forwarding question

So, let me first explain the situation:
I have two phone numbers, one with FIZZ and another with another company. I am primarily using the number with another company, but I do not want to completely delete my fizz number because I have had this number for the last 10 years (many people know it and I don't have the patience to actually advice everyone about this change + I might lose the other number shortly as well, so I might come back to FIZZ number soon).
The question is: can I modify my plan with FIZZ to minimize monthly spendings (for example, take out all data, SMS, voicemail, etc.) while keeping "unlimited" minutes and making call-forwarding to my number with another company? Will call-forwarding work even if my FIZZ sim-card is not inserted in my phone?

Hi Victoria, i believe that call forwarding would work for as long as you have a working line on both phones. You can definitely modify your FIZZ plan just know that it will only take into effect at your next billing cycle and you cannot change your plan within 2 days of your bill cycle. Hope this helps!7

Can I modify my plan with FIZZ to minimize monthly spendings? Yes as long as you request the change at least 48 hours prior to your renewal.
Will call-forwarding work even if my FIZZ sim-card is not inserted in my phone? Yes, once you activate (universal) call forwarding, it will work even if your Fizz sim card is out of your phone or even if your phone is turned off.
