How to fix an abnormally short router range?
We just moved in and received our modem+router unit a few days ago, and the unit has a very short range, barely 30ft away before it starts going out, past that it randomly disconnects or dies out entirely.
The ones my friends have can easily reach 60ft before having issues. The main difference so far is the walls, we're in a semi basement whereas the other apartments are old upper floors, but I'm not sure this should cause this much quality loss. Any tip to fix this? Should I return/trade in this unit back with fizz? Thanks!

Hi Jess,
You can run wifi analyzer to determine the optimal wifi channel(s) for your home.

You can also try turning off the 5 GHz band and/or connecting directly to 2.4 GHz band only.
Unfortunately there is only one Hitron model that Fizz uses for home internet.
Optionally you can use your own router (by enabling bridge mode on the Fizz modem).

Another option is to consider using a Wi-Fi signal extender.
