can I use a Fizz and Videotron cable modem at same time for evaluation period?

Will both Videotron and Fizz modem work at same time connected to cable? Or is there something at the head end that must be switched from one to another? I ask because I also have videotron phone service and I want to test out Fizz internet and a third party VOIP system such as MagicJack before I get rid of videotron internet and phone. Thanks
